A Gift of Music from Brazil*

January 27, 2010

The House of Prayer Experience audience enjoyed inspiring music by two young men, Samuel Antunes violinist, and Sullivan Dutra pianist visiting from Brazil.

Our own church member Marti Jones accepted a recommendation from her pastor brother who had experienced their uplifting music at his church and invited them to come for their remaining two weeks. Both young men are theology students with an emphasis in music ministry.

Sullivan shared his story of faith: God opened doors for him to study music when at first he had decided to follow a more practical route. He shared how he was challenged to simply trust in God.

While in Brazil both young men had asked God to lead them…they wanted to give of themselves and experience a special connection with God through sharing His love during their Christmas/New Year’s break from classes. Although they had not played regularly together. They felt impressed through prayer to come to the United States and provide piano and violin concerts and performances wherever God’s Spirit would lead. Thus far they have been in New York, Virginia, Maryland and other northern states but were excited to come to the Orlandp area to share with people here.

Samuel and Sullivan were themselves deeply impressed and inspired by participating in H.o.P.E.

They witnessed first-hand the benefits of coming together to pray as a community for “all people” and to encourage one another through God’s Living Word.

Please remember to lift Samuel and Sullivan up in prayer as they complete their tour on February 8 and return to their homes.

*On this (Friday) January 29 at 8 pm, they will give a CONCERT at the Forest City Spanish Church, 1226 Bunnell Rd. Altamonte Springs, 32714 in Florida. It is their sincere desire through personal witness and praise-filled music to lift many weary hearts to the heights of God’s throne and to acquaint them with the abundant LOVE of Jesus. If you wish to support their ministry or inquire about their schedule and availability please contact Marti Jones at (407) 886-3868.

See you next Wednesday for a ‘special edition’ with Dr. Jason Shives as he leads in a special prayer for healing and hope following his presentation on Haiti Disaster Relief. Our H.o.P.E Global via internet will return on March 3.

Praying for Disaster First Responder Teams to Haiti

Monday January 18, 2010

Be merciful to me, O God,
Be merciful to me!
For my soul trusts in You;
And in the shadow of Your wing I will make my refuge,
Until these calamities have passed by.
-Psalm 57:1

Medical Doctors Daniel Amponsah, Eli Kim, Chantal Grant,Joseph Kimm Jesus Lopez,Jason Shives,Phuong Nguyen, Nurses Charity Ampohnsah and Chantal Grant and Spiritual Care specialist, Pastor Sabine Vatel left for Miami where several flights were scheduled to leave for Haiti. Pastor Sabine was contacted by the director of the Disaster Relief organization. She had tried reaching him and had been praying about how she could help. She referred Mr. Canther to Dr. Shives who in turn sent messages to his colleagues. The physicians and medical residents jumped at the opportunity to serve!

The first responder’s medical team brought with them triaged bags of medical supplies that were much needed for their set up of clinics near Port-Au-Prince.

Please pray for these young people and others from Florida churches and all around the world who are lending their skills to help save lives and bring hope to the people of Haiti.
