Living Abundantly:Trusting God’s Word

September 30, 2009

Karla (pictured above) is a busy college student, but this doesn’t stop her from taking the time to use her musical gifts to honor God. Last Wednesday, she did just that as she encouraged the hearts of those who heard her sing a song she wrote, “Peace, be still”.

The longing for peace is what compelled Angela to come forward and ask the people of H.o.P.E for prayers on behalf of herself and her children. Parents, spouses and others in the congregation could relate to her plea for a sense of God’s presence in her life and for a breakthrough in the area of finding work to support her family.

Work has been hard to find for Dennis, too. He has recently renewed his commitment to serve God and has decided to become faithful to Him by not working on the Sabbath day. He expressed his amazement at the House of Prayer Experience, and at the reality that there are believers who actually come on Wednesday night to pray for people in the US and around the world!

Pastor Patty Hofer and her team have received feedback from others like Dennis who are part of the Web Church. The Web Church members write from all over the world and say they have benefitted from the Forest Lake Church’s ministry through the Media team’s dedication and hard work. Dennis is particularly close to Patty’s heart because he is her brother.

His prayer request related to finding work was shared with the H.o.P.E community, and he is grateful for the recent opened door! This was good news for everyone! The business man who hired him expressed that he’d want to hire a man who was as faithful to God as Dennis showed himself to be. Dennis’ prayer request expanded to asking for special blessing for his new boss! H.o.PE will continue to pray for him and others who are searching for employment.

Patty came to stand in the place of her brother Dennis that evening, and people who also had family members on their minds came up to join her for intercessory prayers.

God has promised abundant life. Let’s reach out to Him as we learn more about prayers that are grounded in God’s promises.
