Praise
Even youths grow tired and weary,
and young men stumble and fall;
but those who hope in the LORD
will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint.-Isaiah 40:30-31
We praise you, God for your goodness and for the gift of life and for allowing us to see a new year! We praise for the youthful energy and unstoppable faith of those in their teens.
Reflect
Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.-Proverbs 4:23
We pray for the young person in our lives, we pray for their ability to focus on you, God and for their ability to make choices that will bring them life and joy. If you are a teenager reading this,realize how what you see,read or hear influences your attitudes and behavior. Are there habits or things in your life right now that make it hard for you to follow God?
The LORD is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth.-Psalm 145:18
Realize that you are not alone or abandoned, God is near.
Admit (and Ask)
What are deepest desire of your heart? What dreams do you have for your future? Share them with God. Ask God to direct you and make you strong in Him.
If you are a parent of a teenagers or a child approaching the teen years, what are your concerns for them? Submit these to God. What are your hopes for them? Give these to God. Today we join you in praying for your child as they grow through this transition into adulthood and figure out who they are or want to be. Admit or Confess your need for God.
Yield
We submit our teenagers (say his or her name out loud) and ask for your spiritual, physical protection. May they grow in grace and truth, ready to serve God and others.
Whatever age you are, let go of trying to make it on your own, and go into the new year with God-confidence. And everyday say:”more of you,Jesus. In my life. More of you! Amen”
Thank you for coming along with us during these past 11 days of prayer.
Have a blessed, hopeful New Year…
