On Being Teachable

June 23, 2010

The habit of being teachable is important for anyone who wants to be growing in Christ. Surely it comes as a result of growing in Him when you and I recognize that we need Him to teach us about what abundant life is really all about, and that there is a Savior. He is our Savior.
What a fearful thought from John 5:39. We can actually study the Scriptures and totally miss the Savior?
We prayed for teachability tonight.
We prayed for one another tonight so we not miss the teachable moments in our lives.
We came forward together and prayed for those who are on our hearts tonight, and entrusted them to God’s care.

Are you burdened with something or have a heavy heart…?
Read this promise again…or for the first time:

Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.
-Matthew 11: 28-30

See you next Wednesday:)

Singing and Praising God at Midnight?!

June 2, 2010

The HOUSE OF PRAYER EXPERIENCE’S VISION is…

A PASSION FOR GOD…
Dr. Morris reads a Bible story about Paul and Silas who began to sing praises to God at midnight despite being unfairly thrown in jail.

A PASSION FOR PEOPLE…
People from all types of beliefs and backgrounds came forward for anointing prayers of healing.

AND A PASSION FOR SERVICE!
A. is radiant as she shares her story of being delivered from demonic influences. She has brought friends to the House of Prayer with her, and they too experience renewed hope from meeting with other believers. As we read our text for reflection from the Book of Acts chapter 16, she asserts that God is able to save anyone and use anyone… even disturbed people. Like a loving sheperd, God is with us to guide us through dark valleys. In fact, Neville Peter sang the “Lord is My Shepherd” and reminded everyone of Psalm 16:8 through another scripture song that he composed: “I will always set the Lord before me”.

Check back next week as we delve into the hope of transformation. We are called for a purpose. God has called you to mature as a disciple for Him.
Until then, praying for our joy…and hope for the journey.
