PRAY’11, Day 10: Pastors

January 10, 2011

Praise
My tongue will proclaim your righteousness, your praises all day long. -Psalm 35:28

Reflect

Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth. -2Timothy 2:15

But the LORD said to Samuel, “Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The LORD does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart. -ISamuel 16:7

Admit (and Ask)
Ask for spiritual blessings for your pastoral staff. Ask for spiritual and physical protection for their families and loved-ones. Pray that their ministry finds its strength through God’s Word and Prayer. Pray for the effectiveness of their labor for God’s glory.

Keep the Forest Lake Church pastoral search in your prayer, and also pray for those directly involved in the selection of the individual who will fill the role of senior pastor. Let’s confess our inability to discern the right choice without God’s guidance and trust God to lead us in decisions related to leadership and life.

Yield
Pray that the lives of the pastors would be surrendered to God daily and that their heart would be renewed as they commit to follow Jesus everyday.

Amen.
