At the end of a study on giving Thanks, how about inviting participants to a few moments of meditation?
Depending on the group size and comfort level, you may read the prompts and invite people to answer in silence. Pause between the lines to give people a chance to think about their answers.
If in a small group, read the sentence, pause at the blanks and allow for one word answers from those who wish to speak them out.
There are PrayerScript samples in this blog, so feel free to use them if you decide to split into groups of two or three during your prayer meeting. It’s especially a good idea to use these if you have first time guests or newbies: this way anyone who has rarely prayed out loud in front of others won’t feel too awkward when their turn comes. By the way, no need to point this strategy out to everyone. If you do use a PrayerScript as part of the prayer experience, do distribute copies to everyone! It’ll help the group be bonded and unified under one theme.
What other ways could you use this PrayerScript or what have you found helpful to help disciple others into prayer?
